FLYING YOURSELF.

For crews entering Brazil and wanting to legally fly their own drone, whilst possible, the process is lengthy and very paperwork-heavy. One alternative is to rent a drone locally that is already registered with DECEA (Brazilian air traffic control) and then operate under the supervision of a local operator who has the required registration.

If you’re looking to hire a local operator, Aura Filmes works with a variety of highly experienced drone pilots based across Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Drones operated include: DJI Inspire 2 (with both X5s and X7 cameras), DJI Magic 3 Cine, DJI Mavic Air 2S, DJI Mini 2 and FPV Drone Racer.

Our pilots shoot for the whole spectrum of production needs, be that corporate or branded content, car commercials, major factual TV series and large-scale drama. Our operators have shot for Netflix, BBC, HBO, Disney, Globo, alongside a long list of creative agency and production company clients.

Outside of the large urban centres of Sao Paulo and Rio, coverage for experienced drone pilots is more patchy. To help with this, we have access to a growing network of certified and experienced operators in some of the more remote areas of Brazil.

All of our operators are licensed with DECEA and we always fly with the official permissions from the Brazilian authorities.
