IMPORTING VIDEO & PHOTO EQUIPMENT INTO BRAZIL

Whilst many foreign productions opt to hire equipment locally in Brazil, others prefer to bring in their own gear for the shoot, or at least their A-cam package.

THE E-DBV.

Brazil is no longer a signatory to ATA Carnet. The procedure that has replaced Carnet is called the e-DBV - Traveller’s Declaration of Goods. This is somewhat simpler than ATA Carnet, however there is an equal need for the list of goods that is being ‘temporarily imported’ to be accurate, to avoid any difficulties at customs (especially when leaving Brazil).

The e-DBV is completed online, printed off and presented at customs in the ‘Goods to Declare’ line, along with all your baggage. Upon leaving, a similar process is followed.

We can advise on how best to tackle this part of your arrival to minimise the chance of delay or headache.
